About Us
In November 2003, SpiritFire Ministries International was birthed just outside of Charlotte, NC in the home of our pastor when a small group of believers gathered together to seek to know Jesus more fully. The cry of our heart was that The LORD would have a place where His Spirit could move without any restrictions from man. Our goal was Jesus Himself, not ministry, not fame, but that Jesus could have His way with us. God provided a small warehouse to be used as a church and after some renovations and creative decorating it became a beautiful house of worship. Although the church remained a small family-like unit, the many that entered our doors could not deny that they had been in the presence of The Almighty as they worshipped together with us. This body (and most certainly its pastor) was far from perfect, but in the perfection of His redemption, God’s Spirit met powerfully with our group and took us on an incredible journey of transformation.
The Holy Spirit “left no stone unturned” as He began molding us into an army of servants. We reached out to any and all that God sent to us and rejoiced as He allowed us to share His love with the lost and hurting. Soon, The LORD called us to minister in the inner city where He taught us to house the homeless, help the poor, rescue the addicted and afflicted, visit the prisons, and teach His children about Jesus and His ways. We soon discovered that we could find the beauty of Jesus in the most broken of people and were able to learn more from them about the love and mercies of God than they ever learned from us.
In January 2009 we moved from our church building and began to meet in our pastor’s home while we prepared to relocate the church to a hundred acre tract of land in Wilkes County, NC. The move to Wilkes County was a giant leap of faith for our small body as each member of our church had to grapple with the ramifications of forsaking all. The LORD allowed this to be a time of severe testing for us, but in June of that same year those who felt called to go built their altars and placed upon them houses and lands, hopes and dreams, retirement and security and stepped out into the unknown with God. “Why did you do it?” some might ask; because that’s what we believed The LORD wanted us to do. It was just that simple.
It was slow go as we wrestled to build the homes Jesus wanted and we were opposed by satan at every turn. But our God is the triumphant LORD and He only used those battles to purify our church and to strengthen our faith. In His timing, He made the way and now every door knob and light fixture speak of His glory! We welcome guests from various parts of the world, from every generation, social class, and ethnicity and we have found a beautiful blending of hearts and lives as we all fellowship together in the houses that Love built. We welcome you to come and encourage you to come expecting. God will meet you if you can believe.
